Happy Halloween!!! The kindergarten and grade 6 students will be carving jack o lanterns and making footprint ghosts tomorrow! Also, Miss Hodgins won a contest for a FABULOUS Halloween cake and she is very excited to share it with her students!
I know I've already posted this video on the "Grade 6" page, but it's so cool and innovative and exciting that I figured it was worthy of "front page" news. Enjoy! :)

Book Swap On Monday, January 27th, West Central School will be having a book swap in honour of Family Literacy Day! The book swap will take place at the 9AM morning assembly. For every book that a student brings in, they will have the opportunity to choose a new book to take home with them. They are more than welcome to choose books from different age catagories (i.e. If they bring in an easy chapter book that they have grown out of, they are more than welcome to take a young adult book in its place.)
Adults are more than welcome to join in the fun, however they will have to be present at the assembly in order to take part.
Please have all books to classroom teachers by Thursday, January 23rd so that we can have them sorted into catagories and ready to go for the assembly.
This is a fantastic way to gain new literature in your homes...and it is completely FREE!!!
There is NO kindergarten on January 10 (contrary to the December newsletter)
